A PEEP OF THE SHOW

A friend just sent this to me. Cheered up a shit day.
I look like I am having a ball.
It's from November.
Funny, cos I am kind of blank on the affair.
It was just three months after my medical treatment ended and there was emerging normal energy to take the edge off the toxic meds madness.
It's more performance than the assault of previous outings.
But it was all shrouded in that Interferon brain fog.
Also being new to the game, you don't really have a vivid picture of how you look.
So it's good to see the show.
And in a nice little package too.

Shelter

Under Spar awning
We stood
And talked
Vicious rain

By Battambang paddy
We smoked dope
And spoke
Many mines

Behind Bangkok wall
We ducked
Zing
Bullet oblivious

In Ivory Coast
We smiled desperate
Searching smiles
Where the eyes
In warpaint faces?

And
Always
We sucked in
Brittle
Sexual
Thrill.
Strangers
-combatant or non -
Smoking
Nodding
Talking
Quietly
Together
Of
The very very many
Dangers
Hellbent
On
Stopping
You
Making it
Safe
Home

Efficiency

I was reading this Oxfam report by Mark Malone
http://www.scribd.com/doc/200879620/...mic-Inequality
A double decker bus full of rich people own more than half the planet do.
Go figure.

When
Light
Is
Finally
Dying
On
Your
Hospital
Trolly
End

Pause
And
Ponder

The
Curious
Irony

Of
Losing
Your
Life
To
Efficiency

Jaundiced

Sarajevo visions
informer ditches
any forgiveness
in these Monaghan hills?

Liver fatigue
no place to go
morphine desire
in these Monaghan hills

Country west violence
lake acid stillness
aching to drink
in these Monaghan hills

Bleakness and starkness
flashes of beauty
longing for love
in these Monaghan hills

Kavanagh how are you
barbs and booze
full of bravado
in these Monaghan hills

Negative equity
load a syringe
they're hanging from trees
in these Monaghan hills

Where's that dog?
not where he's wanted
roaming the fields
in these Monaghan hills

Good Stock

It's funny being of the age
Where you meet people's sons
And end up washed
In waves
Of  bonhomie
Whiskey
Then you think back
To your parents
Going on
Ah he's from good stock
And you
You would spew
How fucking Nazi is that!
